KELLIE Robinson had an ambitious dream to bring a range of wellness modalities to one studio in Trafalgar. When she walked by an empty studio with ample potential, she decided to bring that dream to life.

Now, not even twelve months later, and The Creative Wellness Studio in Trafalgar has brought locals and visitors together to improve their own lives through exciting and healthy classes and workshops.

Kellie, a photographer with a life-long passion for health and wellness, said the studio on Contingent Street was the perfect place to set up shop. Not only was it in a fantastic location, but it also had strong family links, with her aunt and uncle having operated a clothing store from the building for nearly thirty years.

‘I had this idea to open a big barn on my mother’s property, but it required a lot of permits and ended up feeling like a huge, far away dream,’ Kellie said. ‘One day I was just walking past the shop, looked in and noticed how beautiful it was set out. It seemed like the perfect multi-purpose space.’

Facilitators come from all over the region to conduct the classes, bringing a wealth of knowledge, motivation and mindfulness to locals and visitors. There are options for people of different ages, genders and abilities including breathwork techniques, yoga and ballroom dancing, moon circles, sexuality classes,  meditation sessions and more. Practitioners also work in the consulting rooms at the back of the studio, offering one on one consultaitons.

Whilst the studio aims to improving the health and wellbeing of individuals, local businesses also benefit from visitors and facilitators shopping in their stores and ordering from their cafes or catering companies.

‘There has been a lot of great feedback. People think that this is a great initiative for the community and the studio a nice, welcoming, homely space that brings people together.

Kellie hosts photography sessions in the studio, conducting a headshot day, branding shoots and Christmas photos. She is hoping to have more creative workshops and classes at the studio in the near future.

‘Creative classes can be very therapeutic and go hand and hand with health and wellness,’ she said. ‘We have had cooking & pottery classes already and are hoping to bring painting, embroidery and other creative workshops in the near future.’
