The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow is once again packing up its punchlines and taking them on tour, bringing a dose of laughter to West Gippsland Arts Centre this July.
For nearly three decades, the Roadshow has served as a reminder that world-class comedy isn’t confined to capital cities. Instead, it thrives on the road, meeting audiences where they are and proving that a great joke lands just as well in Warragul as it does in Melbourne.
What makes the Roadshow such a reliable crowd-pleaser is its careful balance of established talent and rising stars. While this year’s line-up is yet to be announced, previous tours have featured names like Bron Lewis (who is now returning to WGAC with her own solo show), alongside standout acts such as Ray O’Leary, Sashi Perera and Takashi Wakasugi. It’s this mix of rising talents and fresh perspectives that keeps audiences coming back year after year.
And they do come back – quickly! Past Roadshows at WGAC have sold out completely, a testament to both the festival’s reputation and the region’s appetite for live comedy. If you’re planning to attend, ensure you book early so you don’t miss out!
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow will be at West Gippsland Arts Centre on Thursday, 2 July at 7:30pm.
Tickets are priced at $45 for full tickets, $37 for WGAC Members, $42 for concessions, and $30 for Youth. Book your seats online at www.wgac.com.au, over the phone on 03 5624 2456, or visit the Box Office between 10 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday at 1 Civic Place, Warragul.
