Nut-free Bliss Balls

This is a simple snack for the time-poor and health-conscience. Whip it up in minutes, store them the fridge in an air-tight container and make it your go-to treat when you need a 3pm pick-up or an after-dinner sweet.

 

Nut-free Bliss Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • Chocolate chips (optional)
  • 12 pitted fresh dates
  • 1 cup (80g) desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut, extra to coat

Method

  • Process rolled oats, cacao powder or cocoa powder, dates, desiccated coconut and maple syrup in a food processor or Thermomix until almost smooth and well combined.
  • Mix in chocolate chips if using.
  • Place another a tablespoon of desiccated coconut on a plate. Roll mixture into small balls then coat with the coconut. Set in fridge for 1 hour. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
