Creative Harvest Edible Garden Festival

Garden enthusiasts are invited to a feast for the senses at Creative Harvest in West Gippsland this month.

Explore a trail of twelve private edible gardens, meet passionate gardeners, gain inspiration, and pick up valuable tips for creating your own sustainable food patch at the unique festival.

Launched in 2018, Creative Harvest is an annual event organised by members of the Baw Baw Sustainability Network (BBSN).

Chair of Creative Harvest Kristy Plumridge said the event is more than just a garden festival; it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and sustainable living.

‘By sharing our gardens and knowledge, we hope to inspire others to connect with nature, grow their own food, and contribute to a greener future,’ she said.

The event will feature:

• Flourishing Gardens: Wander through 12 diverse edible gardens, from intimate backyards to expansive kitchen plots, each bursting with ideas and personality.

• Free In-Garden Talks: Learn from the experts with free talks on composting, veggie patch design, wicking beds, medicinal plants, and healthy soil practices.

• Local Creatives: Immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere with local artists and creatives showcasing art installations and demonstrations, celebrating the fusion of gardening and artistic expression. Food and coffee vans will be at some gardens.

• Engaging Workshops: Expand your knowledge with diverse workshops at Yarragon Hall, covering food preservation, medicinal herbs, sustainable owner arranging, and sourdough baking.

• Family Fun: Creative Harvest is a family-friendly event, with activities for kids of all ages. Dogs on leashes are welcome in some gardens, making it a fun outing for the whole family

• Trail Map: A downloadable trail map will be available for visitors to create their own self-drive adventure.

Weekend Passes are available. Kids attend free.
